Hello friends,
What an unusual campaign year this has been! I’ve missed seeing everyone’s faces on the trail, but for the sake of maintaining COVID-19 protocols, we had to keep our social distance. It was even more difficult to declare a victory, while we patiently waited for every different type of vote to be counted… as it should be.
I am honored and grateful to have received the support needed to be re-elected as your representative. My visions remain steadfast to make the 74th district a great place to live, work, and retire. My personal goal is to consider us one district, where I will proudly represent ALL of my constituents.
With that said, I must first thank my family, as they continue to be my guiding light. To my wife Baleria, our children, our NLICF family, and so many other friends: please know that having you in my life gives me the strength to achieve and be the best that I can. I am indebted to my campaign team, who sacrificed all their time and energy on my behalf. Thanks in particular to my campaign manager Diane van Mol for making me laugh each day when the pressures would build. Hans van Mol: my sincerest appreciation for your “middle-of-the-night” contributions.
I would be remiss to not mention and thank my opponent Dale Hensel. Running for office is never an easy task, but he stepped up admirably and should be proud of his efforts. I wish him and his family many blessings and thank him for such a positive race.
Finally, a thank you to all those that participated by voting. Whether in person or by mail, your vote matters… your vote counts… and will never be taken for granted.
Blessings on all of you and stay safe.
